Meet our Director, Michelle Cherryhomes

Michelle and her husband, Andy, grew up in Pickerington and met at this church. Their continued love for the Pickerington community has kept them here, living in Pickerington. Together, they stay active and have four busy adult kids: Jake, Anna, Grace, Sarah, and their new grandbaby, Eliza.

It is important to Michelle to build a solid faith foundation within their home and family. While spending time together as a family, they enjoy many fun activities such as camping, boating, and hiking. Michelle and her husband have been attending and actively involved in many areas of ministry here at our church for well over 40 years. Michelle is a Pastor at Life City Church, mainly serving the children and families. As the pastor of children’s ministry, she enjoys providing children’s programs that support families while strengthening and encouraging each child’s relationship with the Lord.

Michelle graduated from Columbus Christian High School and then attended Ohio University, where she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Arts with an emphasis in Social Science and a concentration in Early Childhood education.  Since graduating, Michelle has had many professional opportunities that have equipped her to start a Christian preschool, and she has now grown into our academy.  Previously, Michelle was the Director of KinderCare Learning Center in Pickerington, which had an active enrollment of 80 – 100 children.  She also has enjoyed being a preschool and a pre-kindergarten teacher.  She has well over 20 years of experience in the early childhood field.  Another opportunity that Michelle enjoyed was her healthcare experience as a Nurse’s Aide for the Postpartum Unit at Grant Medical Center.  Nurturing children is just part of her nature.

In addition to her role as pastor, Michelle started and developed Trinity Learning Center Preschool LLC in 2013 with just herself and eight precious children.  Over the past years, Michelle has kept her ear to God regarding the direction, guidance, and growth of the fantastic school we have today at ALC Academy.  As the school's director, it’s clear God has called her to make a difference in the lives of children. Michelle is passionate about equipping children with a Christian curriculum that prepares them for advanced education.  Her vision is to show children and their families God’s love while providing a warm and nurturing environment for the next step in their learning journey.
